Marist University
Marketing & Multimedia Content Assistant
Overview: In Marist University’s Office of University Marketing & Communications, I help bring the university’s stories to life through social media and multimedia content.
During summer 2026, I co-managed Marist’s official social media accounts as part of a two-person team, focusing on Instagram, during the senior director’s maternity leave. My work spanned the full content process, from developing ideas and capturing footage to editing, copywriting, publishing, and reviewing performance.
I now work directly with the senior director of social media to support content across the university’s platforms and advise undergraduate student workers. As a recent Marist graduate, I bring firsthand knowledge of the student experience alongside five years of hands-on social media experience.

During summer 2026, I co-managed Marist University’s official social media accounts as part of a two-person team while the senior director was on maternity leave, with a particular focus on Instagram.
My work included developing content ideas, planning posts, writing captions, publishing, and reviewing performance. I balanced scheduled content and university priorities with opportunities that came up throughout the summer, helping keep the accounts active and reflective of what was happening at Marist.
Post-summer I work directly with the senior director of social media to support content across all platforms, continuing to contribute ideas, create content, and use audience insights to inform our approach.

As a recent Marist graduate, I know how much of the university’s story lives in the everyday experiences, traditions, and people on campus. In this role, I help translate those details into content that connects with students, families, alumni, and people discovering Marist for the first time.
My work spans the full creative process: coming up with an initial idea, capturing photos and footage, editing, writing copy, publishing, and reviewing analytics.

Throughout the summer, I helped cover Summer Preview Days, Pre-College programs, and first-year abroad orientation through photography, video, and social content.
For Pre-College coverage, that included capturing moments such as a suturing demonstration, a police dog demonstration, and students watching the World Cup as part of a psychology course. I looked for ways to show what students were experiencing and make those moments engaging for someone watching on their phone.
I also contributed to content highlighting professor Leander Schaerlaeckens’ World Cup commentary and media appearances, connecting faculty expertise with a conversation happening beyond campus.
This work involved being prepared for planned events while staying attentive to unexpected moments that could become a strong story.

During June–August 2026, when I co-managed the accounts, Marist’s social channels recorded 4.5 million total views.
Our accounts served a combined audience of more than 200,000 followers, with my summer work focused particularly on Instagram.
My contributions included:
Developing and producing original photo, video, and written content
Supporting day-to-day content planning and publishing
Capturing admissions events, academic programs, and student experiences
Highlighting campus traditions, university history, and faculty expertise
Reviewing performance to inform future content
